Murals of Chemainus

This train looks like its coming through the wall!
The murals are what have made Chemainus a tourist destination.  I believe there are more than 20 in this little seaside town.  They are fantastic and they are what I went to see, but boy I sure was impressed by the entire little town.  When I was there last, it was March, and the gardens weren't in bloom, but as you can see, the gardens really add to the whole experience.

Look at the palm trees I couldn't believe it !
This was a cute little tea room.  I think it would make a really nice quilt shop.  Chemainus has some really cute little buildings.  It is so picturesque.  To the left is a bed and breakfast.  The garden is gorgeous.

Flowers of Chemainus

The flower gardens in Chemainus were gorgeous.  As we have had so much cold weather and rain, I haven't felt much like gardening, but these beautiful gardens inspired me. I love the little gazebo with with the bird cage.  We finally have a nice sunny day, so I'm off to play in the garden.

Chemainus

I took my hubby and my mom to visit my dear, sweet, auntie on the island two weeks ago.  It was a lovely ferry ride over, and the weather was sunny and nice all weekend.  Vancouver Island is one of the most beautiful places in the world, I think, I would love to live there.  Or Sunshine Coast of B.C.  is equally as nice.  On the Friday of our visit we went to the little town of Chemainus. It is a cute little seaside town that has been invigorated with murals and quaint little shops, restaurants and B&B's to promote tourism.  Here is a site with some info.  http://www.chemainus.com/about/index.htm
